Dr. Marrie Read is a retired United States Navy optometrist with more than twenty-six years of active-duty service in federal health care. She completed her residency training at a Department of Veterans Affairs medical center and is herself a service-disabled Veteran. Throughout her career, Dr. Read has focused on improving access to high-quality medical and vision care for Servicemembers, Veterans, and other federal beneficiaries. Her clinical experience, combined with a deep understanding of federal health care systems and procurement environments, informs American Eye’s mission and strategic direction. As Chief Executive Officer of American Eye, Dr. Read leads the company’s focus on providing medical and ophthalmic equipment, low vision assistive technologies, specialty contact lenses, and clinical support services that enable clinicians to deliver effective, patient-centered care. Her leadership reflects both professional expertise and a personal commitment to serving those who have served.
